As we start the new year, we wanted to take a moment to share with our community where we are at and recap 2022. Last year was certainly a year full of innovation and loads of color along with lots of expansion.
We kicked off last year launching Soft Touch Lipstick and Temporary Hair Color…and while we don’t play favorites, we sort of do! Our personal fave was the Electric Slide Eyeshadow and Brush Sticks, so easy to use and beyond colorful. We closed out the year with an awesome collab with Sonic the Hedgehog and let’s not forget about our OG fan favorite and best-selling Wet Cherry Lip Gloss, which got a formula *and* conscious packaging makeover (cannot get enough of Extra Poppin’). Lastly, you voted on your most missed Velvetine shades and we brought them back in an exclusive vault on LimeCrime.com.
We are honored to announce our partnership with Black Trans Femmes in the Arts. BTFA Collective is on a mission to create spaces for the production and preservation of Black trans art and culture by building community with Black trans femme artists and providing them with the resources and support necessary to thrive. A $10,000 donation was made on behalf of Lime Crime to support their vision of curating a world where Black trans femmes can create without limitations. We look forward to more partnerships in 2023!
We saw your reaction to our mission of making our products more accessible (hello Walmart and Target) and affordable (yes, we had a price drop in makeup!), but we didn’t want to stop there. Our brand has always been about makeup creators and hair enthusiasts, so we are thrilled to announce that you will soon see our expansion into color cosmetics at over 2,500 Sally Beauty stores across the U.S.
We have a really exciting year ahead and it’s going to be a hard secret to keep, but we have some pretty major collaborations and launches coming down the pipeline. Any guesses are welcome, comment below!
