Is Hair Color Safe For My Hair?
At Lime Crime, we care about your hair as a whole. All of our semi-permanent hair colors are formulated without harsh chemicals or lighteners. In other words: They’re incapable of damaging your hair. What’s more, our formulas are designed to deep-condition your strands while depositing color to leave your mane feeling soft, smooth, and healthy-looking—no matter how many times you dye it.
What Is The Best Hair Color For Brown Hair?
All of our semi-permanent hair dyes (especially light shades and neon hair colors) show up best on pre-lightened hair. We recommend bleaching to a light, pale blonde for the best color payoff, which you can do at home with our bleach party kits. It’s extra important for those with virgin hair or strands that are between levels 1 and 6 (i.e., black to light brown hair) to bleach. Hair that’s never been bleached or chemically processed before won’t fully absorb color.
Not sold on the bleach? That’s okay—you can still use the most-pigmented shades of our full-coverage dyes. Try a dark hair color, like Chocolate Cherry or Sea Witch. Instead of saturated color, these rich dyes will leave a soft, subtle tint on those with darker blonde to light brown hair. You can also experiment with color, without making a commitment, by using our Unicorn Hair Temporary Hair Color that rinses out in 1-2 washes.
How Long Does Hair Color Last?
Your shade’s staying power depends on a few factors, including the intensity of your chosen color, the kind of shampoo you use, and whether your hair has been processed before. Your heat styling and swimming habits play a role, too. To keep your color vivid, minimize your use of heat-styling tools and limit how often you shampoo. When you do lather up, use our sulfate-free hair color shampoo and hair color conditioner to help protect your pigment.
